Sport Specific Information
When and where did you begin this sport? She got her first pony at age seven and began focusing on dressage in 2011.
Why this sport? "I've always loved flatwork, that's why my show horses go so well. So when Horse and Hound [magazine] asked me to take part in a swapping discipline challenge with Michael Eilberg [British dressage rider] I was really keen. But I soon discovered that dressage is a huge undertaking and I had to accept that I didn't know anything and start from scratch."

Other information DRESSAGE LOVE A former hunter champion, she now focuses most of her attention on dressage after she was challenged to switch disciplines in 2011 by Horse & Hound magazine. She was given three lesson by British dressage rider Michael Eilberg as part of the feature, and then had to take an elementary test. "I get as much buzz out of dressage as jumping, if not more, and love doing things such as one-time changes. I guess I'm addicted to the training and the special bond it creates, probably because of the hours you have to put in. There's so much attention to detail in everything that you do with dressage, the horse has to understand you in every way. It's so intense." (horseandhound.co.uk, 24 Jan 2019; horsescout.com, 13 Sep 2016) BEGINNING She was asked by UK magazine Horse & Hound in 2012 to be part of a feature that swapped 2 riders from different disciplines. She rode a dressage horse belonging to Michael Eilberg, while he rode one of her working Hunters. She was hooked on the sport and began training with Michael on her successful working hunter horses and quickly qualified through the novice ranks that year. (Athlete, 2018) INJURIES Together with her hustband, she survived a very serious lorry crash. The lorry brakes failed and they crashed into a tree and was airlifted to hospital. The specialists thought she would never walk again and certainly never ride. Within a year she was not only riding again - but went on to win the prestigious Horse of the Year Show Working Hunter Champion 2004 with Out of Sight. (Athlete, 2018)
